RHYTHMUS UND RAUSCH / RHYTHM AND FRENZY

RHYTHM AND FRENZY explores the extent to which interpersonal closeness or the reduction of physical distance can generate intimacy within a performative setting, or whether it instead amplifies the distance between performers and audience. What dynamics are set in motion when bodies converge and condense? And does the anonymity of urban space allow for genuine personal encounters and connection at all?

The performers create an interactive, participatory puzzle landscape that continuously transforms throughout the performance. Gradually, it evolves into a structured chaos—an abstract, energetic vortex unfolding in an endless loop of uninterrupted movement charged with physical intensity. As the performance progresses, the public space itself increasingly becomes an essential part of the work, emerging as an active participant in the performance.

A refreshingly unconventional invitation to greater openness. Karin Schütze, OÖ Nachrichten, on the Posthof performance, 2024
